Pavel Forman’s paintings to be presented at the exhibition “MEMORYSTIC” from 28 March on

Prag Art Works’ Pavel Forman will present about forty medium and large-sized paintings at the exhibition MEMORYSTIC in the Coal Mine Michal in Ostrava that will be opened March 28 at 6 pm. This exhibition will offer quite a recapitulating and retrospective view of Forman’s work up to his most recent pieces created in his studios in Prague and Ostrava alongside a brief selection of paintings created in the US and Berlin. Jan Vrak’s author reading and a concert of Divoký sny Maxipsa Fíka will also take place throughout the vernissage evening. An extensive catalogue will be published, which is to be baptised during the opening too.

The exhibition will be on dsiplay until April 24. The Coal Mine Michal is opened Tuesday to Sunday 9 am to 4 pm.

At 5,15 pm, after the guided tour around the exhibition “Z noveho světa”, a bus will be arranged to take the viewers to the Antonin Dvorak Theatre. A bus transfer from Michal Coalmine back to the Ostrava centre will be provided throughout the evening.

Pavel Forman was born 11 October in 1977 in Bruntal where he lived till he was 18-year-old. Following four years, he studied at the Faculty of Education of the Palacky University in Olomouc. Then he moved to Berlin and studied contemporary German Literature and History of South Asia at the Humboldt University of Berlin. He worked as a bartender for several years. The following years, he studied at the Institute for Art in Context at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Berlin Art University. He attended couple of stipend programmes (e.g. Lithuania, Denmark, Holland, and Ireland) as well as he taught painting in the US, wrote poetry occasionally, owned couple of bars in the Czech Republic. He currently lives and works in Prague and Ostrava.
